We are pleased to announce the C.P.T. is under the direction of new ownership and management.
The Canadian Poker Tour or C.P.T. is beginning a new era as it is now under the direction and ownership of a managing team dedicated to putting Canadian poker on the map. This team is out to finally legitimize a coordinated poker tour across Canada by providing solid leadership in the careful planning and coordination of first class events from coast to coast. The C.P.T. vows to provide an organized, coordinated and innovative venue for Canadian poker, participating casinos as well as poker players. Every effort will be made to provide the best player friendly poker tour possible which will in turn help to draw poker players from across the country to one of our participating casinos and Canadian Poker Tour events.
The relaunch of the new C.P.T. in 2009 is upon us and it is our goal to give both casinos and players alike a compelling reason to not only follow the Canadian Poker Tour but as well to become participating members. The new C.P.T. will attempt to coordinate and gain membership from every Canadian casino, poker room, poker tournament venue as well as the poker players from across the country in an effort to unify poker as a whole within Canada. The C.P.T. is offering substantial value to our tour members in competing for prizes, including a sponsorship contract valued at close to $100,000 to the champion of the televised C.P.T. Player Points Championship.
Part of the vision of the new ownership and management of the C.P.T. is the necessity to coordinate a series of first class major poker tournaments within Canada. Under the direction of Canadian Poker Tour President & CEO, Kelly B. Kellner, who previously planned and orchestrated a couple of the most notable poker tournaments in Canadian poker history, the Canadian Open Poker Championships of 2005 and 2008. Both events included a $5000 heads up match play tournament elimination format, which attracted some of the biggest names in poker. The success of these events is definitely a sign of things to come for tournament poker in Canada. We are looking forward to your participation in Canadian Poker Tour events.
